Benicia, California, January 8, 2008 – Pacific Ozone today announced the release of a new ozone dosing system for bottled water filling applications.  The Company’s IOCS Series of integrated ozone contacting systems has been transformed by the addition of feed forward control.  The advanced integrated system provides unprecedented control and precision of ozone dosing that is also very easy to use.

Pacific Ozone’s IOCS line of integrated ozone contacting systems incorporate all four critical elements of ozone – feed gas preparation, ozone generation, mass transfer, and complete process control – in a single stainless steel-clad skid. The addition of advanced feed-forward control integrates state-of-the-art ozone generation and mass transfer with an array of sensors, monitors, and controls using sophisticated PLC-based process control. The new control architecture provides continuous, stable ozone concentration that is readily controlled and monitored through an easy-to-use touch screen display.

Maintaining tight control of ozone dosing at final bottling presents unique challenges.  Chris Rombach, President of Pacific Ozone remarked, “Our new feed forward control system gives water bottlers unmatched control of ozone concentration by correcting for a wide variety of variables that can impact ozone concentration during bottling.”  Changes in water temperature, flow rate, ozone generator output, and mass transfer efficiency can cause the ozone concentration to fluctuate.  Rombach added, “Our feed forward control system ensures the quality and consistency of bottled water by precisely compensating for these variables.  The benefits of our new control architecture are obvious when plots of ozone concentration over time are compared before and after implementation of our feed foreword ozone control system.   The feed forward system provides much tighter control of ozone concentration; well within ten percent of the target concentration.”
