3.25.15 Baltimiore, MD - The 2015 Food Safety Summit is pleased to announce it will offer a series of five sessions dedicated to discussing strategies, implementation, communication, and collaboration of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). The sessions will include 1) Implementing FSMA: Opportunities for Collaboration; 2) Implementing the Produce Rule: Managing the Options; 3) Implementing the Preventive Controls Rule for Human Food: Development and Evaluation of the Food Safety Plan; 4) Implementing the Imports Rules: Navigating the Globe; and 5) Implementing the International Adulteration Rule (IA): Evaluating Facilities and Processes from a New Perspective. The Food Safety Summit will take place at the Baltimore Convention Center from April 28 - 30, 2015. The specialized FSMA Track will kick off on Tuesday, April 28th with a panel discussion on Implementing FSMA through an Integrated System, scheduled for 3:30 pm. The early bird deadline to register to receive discount rates is Monday, April 6th.
Twist of fate gives food safety event a food poisoning outbreak
3.04.15 Baltimore, MD - Organizers of this year’s 2015 Food Safety Summit are tackling a foodborne illness problem from last year’s summit head-on. In an ironic twist of fate, attendees at the 2014 conference were hit with an outbreak of food poisoning. Summit organizers immediately followed up with the local departments of health and attendees to determine the cause and extent of the outbreak.
