ST. LOUIS- ASI is offering the food community Supplier Audit Management (SAM). This is a total audit management system. SAM will ease the burden for companies by ensuring all suppliers are audited and all corrective actions are closed. This will help companies protect their brand and image.
There are several concerns with the current state of audits. The first challenge is for companies to stay on top of their many suppliers. This is due to the influx of new suppliers. With SAM, ASI will monitor all suppliers a company uses and ensure audits are completed by being the catalyst that makes sure audits are scheduled and reports completed in a timely manner. The second problem is that companies are unable to respond in a real-time manner to items that are out of compliance. SAM allows companies to view and approve said corrective actions in real time.
“SAM will increase the number of supplier audits and bring closure to corrective actions sighted,” says Jeanette Hugé with ASI. With the growing produce problems, SAM is a system already in high demand.
The vehicle for SAM is Data Stream Solution (DSS) which is web-based. A company will be able to access the system anywhere with an internet connection. ASI will consistently watch the progress and initiate communication between the supplier and auditing company.
